What are Piles?

Piles is a disease that people hesitate to tell and keep ignoring it. This can happen to anyone, woman or man. In the case of hemorrhoids, the veins inside and outside of the anus swell. Due to which the internal parts of the anus become like warts, out of which blood often comes out and also causes pain. Due to which the person has constipation, pain and burning sensation during bowel movement and many other problems. Piles are ordinary anatomical parts of the human body which are located at the junction of small arteries and veins. In physiological terms, piles are the accumulation of inflamed and swollen tissues/enlarged blood vessels in anal canal (smooth muscles). Such inflamed tissues often contain blood vessels, elastic fibers, muscle, and support tissue. Piles can appear in a range of sizes along with internal or external presence. The internal piles are located up to 2 - 4 (cm) above (pectinate line) the anal opening whereas, the external piles can occur on the outer edge of the anal opening.

What causes of Hemorrhoids

By the way, anyone can have the problem of piles. A person has prolonged constipation and has to give extra pressure during bowel movements, in which case there is increased pressure on the blood vessels within the rectum and the anal canal and causes swelling and pain. Piles can also occur in this condition.
Apart from this, people who have to stand for long periods of time or lift weights may also have hemorrhoids.
There are many hormonal changes in a woman during pregnancy. Many times during pregnancy, women complain of constipation for a long time, in which they also have the possibility of getting hemorrhoids.
Obesity can also be one of the other causes of hemorrhoids. So if you want that you do not have problem of piles then you should maintain healthy weight

Piles are classified into four grades/classes

Grade I Piles: Grade-I, The internal hemorrhoid bulges into the canal but does not prolapse or fall completely into it. These may bleed.

Grade II Piles: Grade II, The hemorrhoid protrudes past the anal verge with straining for a bowel movement or passage of flatus, but spontaneously returns to its original internal position once the straining has subsided.

Grade III Piles: Grade III, The hemorrhoid may protrude past the anal verge without any straining and requires the patient to push them inside manually.

Grade IV Piles: Grade IV piles are bigger inflammations that need treatment and often remain outside of the anus. These lumps are very itchy and can also be painful (a condition known as thrombosis) in the case of a blood clot development. In this case, bleeding is common after passing a stool.
